Social media is meant to be fun, not just another task on your to-do list. Yet, so many business owners feel stuck in the cycle of content creation, trying to keep up with algorithms and engagement rates. This blog is your invitation to reconnect with the joy of creating—to shift from pressure to play and build a strategy that feels aligned. We’re breaking down three essential steps: šŸ”¹ Clarifying what you want to be known for—lean into your passion and expertise. šŸ”¹ Choosing the right platform—find the best fit for your content style and audience (with insights on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and more!). šŸ”¹ Fostering real human connection—because social media is about building relationships, not just posting. Let’s say forget the algorithm and focus on authenticity, impact, and ease—because that’s where the magic happens. šŸ’«

Social media is meant to be fun, not just another chore on your never-ending to-do list. Yet, so many business owners feel trapped in the cycle of content creation, feeling pressured by algorithms, engagement rates, and the need to constantly be online.

This month, I’m challenging you to reconnect with the joy of creating—to step away from the pressure of doing it ā€œrightā€ and instead, create for the sheer love of sharing your wisdom and connecting with your audience. Let’s say fuck the algorithm and focus on what truly matters: authenticity, connection, and impact.

1ļøāƒ£ Get Clear on What You Want to Be Known For

It’s so easy to slip into people-pleasing mode, trying to appeal to everyone. But the magic happens when you lean into what truly lights you up.

Think about the topics that ignite your passion—the conversations that energize you, the knowledge you could talk about for hours, and the transformations you naturally help your clients achieve.

For me? It’s blending business education with shamanic wisdom, web design, and mindset work in business. I love problem-solving, teaching practical tools, and helping people navigate the energetics of business in a way that feels truly aligned.

So, what are your top three core themes? Keep them broad—think of them as an umbrella under which multiple subtopics can flow. This approach keeps your content fresh and diverse while still staying aligned with your brand’s message.

2ļøāƒ£ Choose ONE Primary Platform

Yep, you don’t have to be everywhere at once. šŸ™Œ

Instead of stretching yourself thin across multiple platforms, choose one main space to pour your energy into—the one that feels most natural, easy, and enjoyable for you.

Ask yourself:

  • Where do I enjoy engaging the most?

  • What platform aligns best with my content style (video, text, audio, etc.)?

    • Instagram: Great for visual storytelling, short videos (Reels), and community interaction through DMs and comments. (Popular among Millennials and Gen Z)

    • Facebook: Ideal for building deeper community through groups, long-form posts, and live sessions. (Favored by Gen X and Millennials, with strong community-driven groups)

    • TikTok: Best for short, engaging video content with a focus on entertainment and trends. (Dominated by Gen Z but increasingly adopted by Millennials)

    • LinkedIn: Perfect for professional networking, thought leadership, and long-form content. (Primarily used by Millennials and Gen X professionals looking for industry insights and connections)

    • YouTube: The go-to for educational and evergreen video content. (Attracts a broad audience, from Gen Z to Baby Boomers, depending on content type)

    • Pinterest: Amazing for visual discovery, evergreen blog promotion, and niche content. (Mostly Millennials and Gen Z, especially in creative, lifestyle, and DIY niches)

    • Threads: Great for real-time conversations and deeper engagement with your audience. (Newer platform, currently engaging Millennials and Gen Z looking for Twitter-style discussions)

  • Where is my audience most engaged?

Once you’ve built consistency and flow in one place, you can explore expanding to a second or third platform—if it feels right. But you do not need to be everywhere (seriously, who has time for that?! 🤣).

3ļøāƒ£ Social Media is About Human Connection

It’s easy to get caught up in the ā€œpost, post, postā€ mindset and forget that social media is, at its core, about human connection.

Engagement isn’t just about numbers—it’s about real conversations, building trust, and creating relationships with the people who already resonate with your message.

How can you foster more connection?

  • Invite your audience into conversations—ask questions, encourage discussions.

  • Respond to comments and messages like you would in a real-life conversation.

  • Share behind-the-scenes moments, stories, and insights that let people get to know you.

I truly feel that 2025 is about deeper connection, real community, and coming together. People are craving authenticity more than ever, and social media is shifting towards meaningful interactions over vanity metrics.

Final Reminder: Just Be YOU

If you’re here to make an impact, start with the people who already want to hear from you.

Show up raw. Authentic. Unfiltered. Let go of perfection, release the pressure to get it ā€œright,ā€ and instead, focus on WHY you’re sharing.

That’s where the magic happens. šŸ’«
